"Come with me, will you?" I begged my 8 year old daughter while nervously handing her my camera.  She was thrilled because I needed her to be my photographer;  I was nervous because I needed her to be my photographer.

As a Craftsy Workshop instructor I have been working on a blog post.... for a while now that I wanted to insert myself into.  I would rather pull a finger nail completely off while eating something my children had cooked, but I somehow talked myself into this idea one morning and ran with it.

After a couple of shots my daughter dramatically rolled her eyes and said, "Mom, can't you do something other then just, you know, look at me."  "What else should I do?" I nervously inquired.  "Put your hands on your hips," she commanded.
"Now that's high fashion!" she declared.  Not realizing that she caught my double chin I tried to oblige her when she suggested that I hold one arm and "look this way".
Don't you love how I smile at the door?  And then there is this classic look while I grab near my shoulder looking so "stylish".  "Stylish", that is, according to an 8 year old.
Oh my.  At least no double chin, right?
Of course the only picture that really turned out is the "boring" pose where I "just sit there".

I was so grateful to find that she got 1 decent shot!  Maybe next time I'll hire a professional?  Who knows, maybe my independent 8 year old's composition will improve.  At least it made for an entertaining afternoon!

(By the way, the shawl was my charming grandmother's.  I Fancy Schmancy'd it up with a Pouting Princess fabric flower brooch!)

So, have you ever been daring enough to let your child be a photographer?
